The following is the poem, ‘Suwon’ by Laura Garavaglia.
저녁의 침묵을 반으로 갈랐다.
수원은 백조와 소리가 같다.
불행한 왕자의 이야기
수원은 한 줄기 빛
활이 화살을 쏜다
재빠르고 힘센 시어들이
The ancient light of the sun
cut in half the silence of the evening.
Suwon has the same sound of swan.
City of Kings
an ancient fortress
surrounded by walls
the story of a cruel father
and an unhappy prince
sentenced to die in a basket to store rice.
The green lawns, the resigned quiet
of those who live only in memory.
Suwon is a flash of light
the bow shoots the arrow
the fast and strong poetry words
La luce antica del sole
Taglia a metà il silenzio della sera
Suwon ha il suono della parola cigno
nella lingua inglese. Città di re.
Una fortezza antica
circondata da mura
la storia di un padre crudele
e di un principe infelice
condannato a morire in un canestro
per conservare il riso.
Dentro le mura
Il verde dei prati, la quiete rassegnata
Di chi vive solo nel ricordo.
Suwon è un lampo
mentre la freccia scocca dall’arco.
E le parole della poesia,
rapide e forti, vanno dritte al segno.
